working away...

on some new classes (keeping my fingers crossed and submitting some stuff too!).

Got to use some of my new stuff and some of my new-to-me stuff that came in my last couple of orders... I have loved this stamp since I first saw it, and am so happy it didn't retire!

If you know me, you know I'm not a pink-lovin' kind of gal, but I do make exception for the yummy combo of pink & brown from time to time...

I (finally) used some of this gorgeous brown velvet flower trim by Maya Road, that I've perhaps been hanging onto for far too long (?3 years?). (Thanks, Milo, for trimming it all off the roll and into (some) pieces for me to use (and some shreds that are unsalvagable (sp?)!)

I'm LOVING the new 'movers & shakers' dies by SU & Sizzix... you can move this little window anywhere on your card front, AND it coordinates with the SU Curly Label Punch! So cute!

"Just A Dog"

From time to time people tell me, ”Lighten up, it’s just a dog,” or, “That’s a lot of money for just a dog.”

They don’t understand the distance traveled, the time spent or the costs involved for “just a dog.”

Some of my proudest moments have come about with “just a dog.” Many hours have passed and my only company was “just a dog,” but I did not once feel slighted. Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by “just a dog,” and, in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of “just a dog” gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day. If you, too, think it’s “just a dog,” then you will probably understand phases like “just a friend,” “just a sunrise,” or “just a promise.”

“Just a dog” brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and pure unbridled joy. “Just a dog” brings out the compassion and patience that makes me a better person. Because of “just a dog” I will rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future.

So for me, and folks like me, it’s not “just a dog” but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond memories of the past and the pure joy of the moment. “Just a dog” brings out what’s good in me and diverts my thoughts away from myself and the worries of the day. I hope that someday they can understand that it’s not “just a dog” but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being “just a human.”

So the next time you hear the phrase “just a dog.” just smile….because they “just don’t understand.”

on a roll...

With each new catalogue release, Kelli & I have been getting together to CASE (Copy And Share Everything!) some of the examples so that we have new samples to display for our customers. We pick an example to CASE and then make 2 - one for each of us. The last couple of times we've done this, Kelli has managed to pump out oh, 4 or 5 (so 8-10) cards to my 1 or 2... it's pathetic, really. But not tonight. Tonight, I was on a roll...

it's a ruff life...

(sorry for the poor lighting and exposed 'boy parts'!) ... my dogs have it rough, eh?

what's your word?

Your Word is "Fearless"

You see life as your one chance to experience everything, and you just go for it!

You believe the biggest risk is being afraid and missing out on something amazing.

Sometimes your fearlessness means you're daring. You enjoy risky activities.

And sometimes your fearlessness means you're courageous. You're brave enough to do the right thing, even when it's scary.

Valentine's Day...

is 'just around the corner' (by the Card Maker's Timeline), and it's so nice to make something other than a Christmas card for a change!

These are just a few things I've been working on for some upcoming workshops and classes...

(another) snow day...

these were actually taken the other day at the dog park, but you wouldn't really be able to tell - it looks like this every day now!

They're not wonderful pics, but they're not bad considering they're from Shawn's cell phone camera in the middle of a blizzard!
