a pretty good week...

probably not quite on PAR with Kelli's BDE (Best Day Ever - see here & here), but still a pretty good week overall. (Well, after I got through Monday - worked @ 6:30am in the middle of what could have been 5 days off, but I digress...)

Tuesday I felt a little bit under the weather, so I cancelled my plans, holed up at home and got some cards made. (Doesn't sound all that great yet, eh?)

So, anyways, Wednesday morning I was awakened by the loud, shrill ringing of my phone (note to self: turn off ringer on next days off) @ 8:03am, followed by Kelli shrieking "I got THE Call! I got THE CALL!" to which I aptly responded, "Huh? What? What are you talking about?" She filled me in (ie. she got THE CALL from Scrapbooks Etc. that they are going to publish some of her beautiful work!), I pried my eyes open and congratulated her. That's so cool - now I can say "I knew her when..." Well, I still know her, but you never know what might happen when she becomes a huge SB Celeb, right?!

So, a few hours later (ie. at a decent hour, & after I had a very large coffee & a shower) I went to pick up Kelli (I guess almost-famous-almost-SB-celebs need chauffers?) & we went shoe shopping. Turns out, Cadence Footware downtown on Bernard is having their annual Buy 1 Get 1 Free Sale (I guess Kelli's BDE was spilling over a little goodness for me too!), so I picked up a replacement pair of my Favourite Shoes Ever (I've nearly worn the soles off of the first pair after almost 3 years of everyday wear!): They're Naot shoes - high on my list of Most Comfortable Shoes Ever! Love them! And then for my free pair, I got (ready for this?) the Most Comfortable Slippers Ever, by Keen:

Well, apparently they are 'Outdoor Hybrid Footwear', or so I was told by the woman at Cadence, but to my poor tired feet at the end of a long day of running around the hospital, they truly are The Most Comfortable Slippers Ever! They have felt upper/outers (I think the website says boiled wool, but they look & feel like felt to me!), with a soft fleecey-type lining, and a contoured footbed = HEAVENLY!

So, off we went to a celebratory lunch at Samosa's on Bernard, where we had some pretty darn good Butter Chicken & all the trimmings, and then we found hats (click here to see Kelli's hat, and I'll take a pic of my bear hat to post later).

Today, my 'Friday', Kelli, Emily & I went to see 27 Dresses... good show. Somewhat predictable, but quite funny - I love Katherine Heigl (Izzy on GA). And, finally, tomorrow (I guess that would be later this morning now!) some of my friends are coming over for a crop day! Great end to a pretty good week...

Wow! Almost a whole post devoted to me. Thanks for helping to make my BDE last longer. I think you should have gotten that hat that looked like a chauffeur's hat.
